‘We should be worried’: report sheds light on ICE’s booming arsenal of hi-tech surveillance tools

A new report says US immigration agencies sharply increased spending on AI-enabled surveillance tools used to find and track migrants. It analyzed ICE and CBP contracts with 11 tech firms and found awards rose from about $310m in 2025 to a record $513m in 2026.
