The First Chatbot’s Multiple Personalities
Researchers have recovered ELIZA’s source code from MIT archives and found that the 1960s chatbot could adopt multiple personas beyond its well-known therapist role. Their analysis appears in a new MIT Press book, which includes a faithful emulation of the therapist persona.
