The Chatbot That Foretold Why People Share Secrets With ChatGPT
In the 1960s, MIT professor Joseph Weizenbaum created ELIZA, an early chatbot that held text conversations with users. People’s interactions with ELIZA helped establish patterns later seen in chatbot use, including sharing personal information.
