A Guardian investigation says an £8.2bn AI datacentre project in Lanarkshire, backed by CoreWeave and DataVita, cannot meet its promise to run entirely on on-site renewables. The report says government and developers privately acknowledged power supply issues, despite earlier claims the site would be built by 2030.
