Optical Tech Would Update a Robot’s AI on the Fly
Cornell Tech researchers demonstrated an optical receiver that uses patterned light to write AI model parameters directly into memory. Presented at the IEEE/JSAP Symposium on VLSI Technology & Circuits, the design aims to reduce data movement and energy demands in data centers and edge devices.
