OpenAI's GPT 5.6 rollout now requires US government approval on a "customer by customer basis"
OpenAI said GPT-5.6 will initially be available only to selected partners after a U.S. government request, with access approved on a customer-by-customer basis. CEO Sam Altman said it is not intended as a preferred long-term model.
