NASA Puts Google’s Gemma Large Language Model in Orbit
NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory demonstrated Gemma 3 4B analyzing imagery from a YAM-9 satellite in orbit, in what it describes as the first in-orbit vision-language model test. The NAVI-Orbital framework also lets researchers send natural-language prompts to spacecraft.
