‘Irresponsible’: backlash as Utah approves datacenter twice the size of Manhattan
Utah has approved plans for the Stratos AI datacenter project, a proposed facility spanning more than 40,000 acres across three sites in Box Elder county. Critics say the project could use more electricity than the entire state and draw heavily on water supplies in a drought-hit region.
