Interpol says AI has become the "core operational driver of cybercrime" across Africa

An Interpol report says AI was involved in 55% of reported cybercrimes in Africa. Reported financial losses rose from $192 million to $484 million, while about 600,000 digital extortion cases involving deepfakes were recorded.
