Google Deepmind adds background execution and MCP support to Gemini API managed agents
Google DeepMind added four features to Managed Agents in the Gemini API: background asynchronous execution, direct connections to remote MCP servers, support for custom functions with sandbox tools, and credential refresh without losing agent state.
