Google CEO Pichai says Gemini's next leap depends on building "much larger base models"
Alphabet raised its 2026 investment forecast to as much as $205 billion as demand outpaces spending, while Google Cloud grew 82% in Q2. CEO Sundar Pichai said Google has begun training Gemini 4 and that its next AI advance will require much larger base models.
