Datacentre projects could face fees for grid access to ease connection queue, Ofgem says
Ofgem proposes requiring UK datacentre projects to pay upfront fees or provide financial security to secure electricity-grid connections. The regulator says 315 datacentres are awaiting connections, representing 73GW of demand, above the country’s 45GW peak demand.
