Copilot goes cheap as Microsoft phases out OpenAI and Anthropic models to cut costs

Microsoft is replacing OpenAI and Anthropic models in some products, including Excel and Outlook, with its own MAI models. Its AI chief said the goal is to eventually remove external model costs, and tens of thousands of weekly queries already use the internal models.
