Anthropic's fix for Fable 5's high cost is turning it into a manager that delegates to Sonnet 5
Anthropic recommends using Claude Fable 5 as a planner that delegates tasks to smaller models rather than calling it for every request. In an “Advisor” setup with Sonnet 5, the approach reportedly reaches 92% of Fable 5’s standalone performance at 63% of the cost.
