AI search agents don't fail at searching, they fail at asking the right questions when queries get ambiguous
A new benchmark, DiscoBench, finds AI search agents often struggle more with ambiguous queries than with search itself. Models that keep searching instead of asking clarifying questions can perform worse than guessing, and accuracy rises sharply when ambiguity is removed.
